
Dr. Nikolaos Kalyviotis is an Assistant Professor of Planning, Management and Evaluation of Programs, Investments and Projects at the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly. Before joining the University of Thessaly, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Economics at the University of Crete and as a postdoctoral researcher in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto, where he also taught in the graduate program Cities Engineering and Management. Nikos completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Birmingham. One third of his doctoral research was conducted at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, while a smaller part was carried out at the University of Melbourne. He is a Dipl.-Ing. Civil Engineer of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with exchange studies at the City University London, at the Delft University of Technology and at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He is a holder of the Erasmus Mundus Masters in Strategic Project Management European (Politecnico di Milano, Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh and Umea University). Part of his research has been published in international scientific journals and conferences, and he is a reviewer of international scientific journals and conferences.
