This course emphasizes introductory statistical concepts such as data description, probability theory, distributions, and statistical hypothesis testing. The goal is to develop an understanding of these concepts and acquire basic data processing skills, as well as the ability to interpret surveys with statistical analysis.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
– Acquire the ability to perform basic data management, analysis, and presentation.
– Acquire basic competence in using the statistical language R.
– Read statistical surveys (as far as the course material allows).
