Laboratory for Spatial Analysis GIS and Thematic Cartography (SAGIS_TC)

Profile

Welcome to the SAGIS-TC Lab (Planning B1)

The Spatial Analysis, GIS and Thematic Cartography Lab (SAGIS-TC Lab) located in the Planning and Regional Development Building room B1 is home of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Spatial Analysis teaching facilities at the University of Thessaly. The SAGIS-TC Lab is utilized primarily in support of teaching and lab activities associated with courses in GIS and Spatial Analysis. Students gain hands-on experience in applying GIS technology and Spatial Analysis techniques as tools for managing, evaluating, analyzing and visualizing spatial data.

The lab is available to UTh students for special projects (senior projects and graduate theses) incorporating geospatial analysis techniques via enrollment in one unit of SAGIS-TC Lab Project. Students MUST have completed a minimum of one introductory course in geospatial sciences to be eligible to enroll. Please contact Dr. Panos Manetos during the registration period each semester for information on enrollment eligibility and to obtain a permission number.
